Britain’s Ben Woolliss will follow up his stunning ONE Championship debut when he returns to action on May 16, live on Sky Sports.
At the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, live on Sky Sports in the early hours of the morning on Saturday May 16, Woolliss will fight Petchtanong Petchfergus in a bantamweight kickboxing contest.
In his match-up with Petchfergus on ONE Fight Night 43, Woolliss will be pitting himself against a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion.
Woolliss, from Grimsby, has had to battle through long-term health issues in recent years but signed with ONE and made his promotional debut just last month.
He accepted his first assignment on just nine days’ notice, taking on former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker in a featherweight kickboxing clash.
Lineker is known for tremendous punching power but Woolliss took a spectacular one-round stoppage victory over him, taking out “Hands of Stone” with agonisingly damaging low kicks.
In the main event on May 16, Chinese star Tang Kai makes his second ONE featherweight MMA world title defence against Shamil “The Cobra” Gasanov.
Kai has demolished every single featherweight MMA fighter in his path to claim. Gasanov though has a near-flawless record, using his powerful stand-up arsenal, renowned grappling, and submission expertise to overwhelm the competition. After avenging his only career loss, “The Cobra” is ready to strike and may be unstoppable now.
